Arles

Arles marked Van Gogh's life as he painted 300 paintings and sketches. Still today Van Gogh's memory rhyhtmes the town even if original paintings are not exhibited in the town. Forum place, "Café la nuit", Maison Jaune on Lamartine place or the Rhone docks are to be visited. The famous arenas and the Alyscamps also inspired the master.

Van Gogh's bedroom

Vincent Van Gogh immortalized this room on one of his paintings. A theather designer succeeded in recreating it ,scrutinizing every details with a professional set designer. Only few meters from the real house called the Maison Jaune bombed in 1944, this bedroom is worth a visit.

Van Gogh's foundation in Arles

Van Gogh's foundation in Arles set up a talent contest to gather amateurs paintings to build a collection caled "the absent place" dedicated to the painter. With the initiaibe of the Arles painters, sculptors, poets and photographers, this project is aimed to replace the original paintings spread all over the world.

St Paul de Mausole

After Arles, Van Gogh decided in May 8, 1889 to settle down in Saint Remy de Provence. Inspired by the majestic surrounding environment and suprised by the warm welcome of the nuns, Vincent Van Gogh rediscovered peace. He did 143 oil paintings, 100 drawings in only 53 weeks.

St Rémy de Provence

Saint Remy de Provence created in2003 a foot tour to help tourists better understand Van Gogh personality and works. Baptised "Van Gogh's landscapes in Saint Remy de Provence", this little circuit starts in Saint Paul Hospice and ends in the old town center where the Center d'Art Présence is located. Signboards are there to assist tourists.

Le Centre d'Art Présence Vincent Van Gogh

In the Estrine Hotel, a 18th century historical building rewarded with the Great Price of living heritage in France, the Centre d'Art Présence Van Gogh honors this great artist. Every year, a theme exhibition is organised. Video-projection, photos, documents are to be found.
