Gordes
Near Vaucluse, Gordes is a famous touristic, gastronomic and cultural place. This village has many traditions and its architecture with grey or white houses is highly picturesque. Gordes is also known for its painting exhibitions because many famous painters used to live here - Andre Lhote, Marc Chagall or Pol Mara. The exceptional Bories village will welcome you with surprising rounded buildings. And do not forget to visit the Senanque Abbey and Bouillons mill.
Saint Rémy de Provence
Saint Remy de Provence is in the heart of the Alpilles and welcomes you with magnificient restored houses, ancient lanes, nice fountains and terraces to enjoy the sun. This village has an outstanding cultural heritage with hotels converted into museums, art galleries, chapels and convents. You'll visit the great baths and the archeological center with the Sade hotel. With its beauty and its charm, this little town welcomed Van Gogh who painted near 150 paintings of St Remy de Provence.
Avignon
Avignon is the cultural jewel of Provence thanks to its history and art. Former Pope's center, Avignon managed to presrve its architecture. Once you walked under one of the 7 doors to the city center, you can visit the Pope's Palace of the XIVth century. Do not forget the famous Avignon bridge and the museums of the little Palace and the Roure Palace. You can stroll in the lanes to discover the Antic quarter and the Clock Place to join the Doms Rock.
Fontaine de Vaucluse
Fontaine de Vaucluse or Vallis Clausa gets its name from a source near a waterfall of 230m high. This is the most powerful fountain in France and the 5th worldwide. Fontaine de Vaucluse inspired artists like Frederic Mistral or Francois Petrarque who has his museum. You can enjoy walks by the Sorgue river. You'll taste the local cuisine and in particular the trout at Chez Philip.
Isle sur la Sorgue
Isle sur Sorgue is a little village of Southern France also known as the "Comtat Venice". Its historical heritage is very rich: Notre Dame des Anges is evidence of it. Isle sur la Sorgue has a Sunday market and Antic fairs. This charming place can also be discovered by walking in the lanes with paddle wheels.
